Sacha Baron Cohen to be Sued Because of Bruno
by Gossip on Aug.04, 2009, under Gossip

After the Bruno movie has made its grand premiere in the US and else where, a lot of people are reacting to it. Some give positive reactions, while others do it quite negatively.
One of the unhappy individuals about the Bruno film is the man who was portrayed to be a terrorist in it. He said that he isn’t a terrorist but a Christian activist, as a matter of fact. Branding him as such and editing out his interview is not a laughing matter.
The man portrayed as a terrorist in the film is Abu Aita, a 44 year old Arab man. He is quite fully resolved to file a case against Sacha Baron Cohen
Bruno in Mexico in September
by Gossip on Jul.31, 2009, under Gossip

The Bruno movie is more like a brutal attempt to make fun of everything and everybody. The showing of Bruno in Mexico is scheduled in September. And the people there might have mixed reactions to this new comedy film by Sacha Baron Cohen.
Their rift, if they’ll respond as that, will definitely be focused on the scene where Mexican men are positioned on their fours to be used as chairs. Bruno even said, “Please feel free to sit on our Mexican furniture. Demi Moore as two of them at home.”
Mexican men, complete with their mustache, acting as chairs. Would real Mexicans think of it as funny?
Is Bruno Too Gay For Your Taste?

A lot of gays detest Bruno because they say that the movie is what gives them and their sexuality a bad name. The gay societies all over the world are actually moving forward with the equal rights treatment that they truly deserve. Now thanks to Bruno, they’re back at the stonewall.
However, gays shouldn’t blame everything on Bruno. The main goal of the movie is to make people laugh. It has never intended to make gays be typecast as stereotypes. Not all gays are like Bruno. He’s the extreme.
Also a lot of gays, even straights for that matter, say that the flick is too porn. They say that it shouldn’t have gotten an R rating.

Bruno Fading Fast after First Day
by Gossip on Jul.23, 2009, under Gossip

The thirty million dollars movie gross of Bruno during its first day opening is slashed down to as much as 70% on the film’s subsequent days of showing. Its trend is definitely different from Borat, which started weak then blew up to immense proportions during the weekend.
Bruno was a bit of a hype, especially when it was promoted as Sasha Baron Cohen’s follow-up to the hit that Borat has become. Many people went to the cinemas, most of them Borta fans while many are simple gays like the fashionista that Bruno is.
It’s a funny movie still and you can’t watch the whole flick straight faced the entire time. You’ll get your dosage of laugh medicines with this one. Only Borat can make Bruno look like a failure.

Bruno is No. 1 in the Local Box Office This Week
by Gossip on Jul.13, 2009, under Gossip

Bruno got the top spot this week in the US Box Office. The movie finished with a $30.4 million in gross ticket sales. However, whether it would stay on top for a few more weeks is still uncertain. One can’t also tell if it will surpass Borat’s $128 million gross revenue. Incidentally, Borat failed miserably on its first week, when it raked in a mere $9 million compared to Bruno’s $34.
Still, this goes to prove that a lot of people would rather watch Bruno last weekend. It replaced Transformers on the top spot, while Ice Age became a mere second to its supremacy.
